This limited release from Bunnahabhain began with eleven years in bourbon casks before being carefully finished for three years in ruby port hogsheads. The port influence brings layers of sweet red fruit, rich spice, and a soft coastal touch that sets this whisky apart. Bottled at natural cask strength with no chill filtration, it holds onto all the depth and character developed over time.
Dark chocolate and toasted oak lead into cherries, plums, raspberries and caramelised walnuts. A generous mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, pain au chocolat and sweet red fruits. Layers of pomegranate, redcurrant jelly and soft malted barley unfold with each sip. Long and warming with cocoa, soft spice, dried fruits and a gentle coastal breeze.
