A single barrel Whisky Loot exclusive selected specially by our team of spirits experts. This single malt comes from the Corowa Distillery in country New South Wales, and has been aged in former Bourbon barrels. Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration, this dram is full-bodied and packed with orchard fruit flavours, nutmeg spice and some warming vanilla-oak.

Since the late 19th century Corowa has been famed as one of the birthplaces of the Australian Federation Movement. It can now also be acclaimed for its local distillery, which is producing some genuinely world class spirit.
Corowa distillery is one of the most picturesque in Australia, based inside an old flour mill in this charming, rural town. They even have an attached chocolate factory and shop!
This bottling was a single barrel pick from the Whisky Loot team, with our whisky experts prizing the spirit’s exceptional richness of flavour. Bourbon cask maturation means that the core profile of the distillery’s spirit is on full show.

Tasting notes
Nose
This dram opens with aromas of fragrant vanilla bean, malty biscuits, waxy orange, sweet pastry, burnt brown sugar, straw, shaved oak, green apple and candied pear.
Taste
Thick and luscious with full flavours of vanilla custard, creamed honey, apple juice, cinnamon, more malt, nutmeg, cloves, a gentle oak note and pear flavoured lollies.
Finish
A long finish that brings flavours of charred oak, creamy chai tea, subtle lingering spice and freshly baked bread. An excellent selection, if we do say so ourselves!
