A fascinating whiskey from one of the most famous distilleries in the world – Jack Daniel’s! This is not your standard JD, but rather a single barrel rye whiskey, offering a unique glimpse of the distillery’s spirit. When it was released, this expression marked the first new “mashbill” (whiskey recipe) from Jack Daniel's in over 150 years – containing 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley. The result is a spicy and rich dram.
Acclaimed by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Keith Richards, Jack Daniel’s is by far the most well-known producer of Tennessee whiskey, and one of the most highly regarded American distilleries of any kind.
The distillery is known for its employment of the Lincoln County Process – by which whiskey is trickled through maple charcoal, both filtering it and adding a subtle wood-char flavour. This rye expression is subject to the same process, producing a dram that serves up all the beautiful rye spices you might expect, whilst delivering the classic JD character we know and love!

An inviting, fruity and rich nose greets the drinker, with notes of stewed apples, bananas, warming toasted cinnamon, some tingling mint, lemon zest and dried apricot.
Medium bodied and a little tannic, offering flavours of barrel char, dried mint leaves, oak, caramelised orange rind, fresh rye bread, cinnamon, ground cloves and thick vanilla.
Long, spicy and warming, with burnt sugar and charcoal, cinnamon lollies, toffee apples, vanilla and oak. A terrific addition to the JD stable.
