Kavalan’s Solist range is renowned for serving up some of the finest single barrel whisky around. This bottling is no exception – a delightful Bourbon cask single malt from the Taiwanese distillery. Kavalan’s warehouses experience enormous fluctuation in temperature, reaching as high as 42Cº, meaning the whisky enjoys accelerated evaporation and maturation.

Founded in 2005, Kavalan have swiftly gained a reputation for producing some of the very best single malt whisky found anywhere in the world!
The climate of Taiwan allows Kavalan to swiftly produce a characterful and flavoursome whisky using shorter maturations than seen in Scotland and Ireland.
The effects of Kavalan's inimitable aging conditions were on full show in 2010, when the distillery's spirit beat out three Scotch whiskies in a blind tasting – on Burn's Night no less!
This Bourbon cask bottling maintains a perfect balance between the natural qualities of the spirit, and the flavours of the cask, ensuring that neither overwhelms the whisky's final character.

Tasting notes
Nose
Floral and rich, with honeyed notes of sweet oak and vanilla. Tropical aromas of apricot, pineapple and dried mango come through later.
Taste
Powerful and spicy, with cinnamon, nutmeg, powdered cloves and black pepper. Some flamed orange rind, vanilla and dark floral honey add depth.
Finish
Very long, with slightly mouth-tingling flavours of black pepper, more tropical fruits, drying oak, and burnt toffee.
