The legacy of whisky legend, the late Dr Jim Swan, lives on with this innovative cask design. STR refers to a specific method of rejuvenation of casks by Shaving, Toasting and Re-charring. These specific STR casks previously held red wine, where the unique process of reconditioning reduces some of the bolder flavours giving the red wine a more subtle influence. An extremely well-balanced whisky integrating peat smoke, oak and red wine to perfection. Only 43 casks of this whisky exist!

Tasting notes
Nose
Dry wood smoke with gooey chocolate pudding. A little black cherry and blackcurrant compote on the side. Deep complexity from some additional baking spice.
Taste
Burnt raisin toast with a thin layer of salted butter. Caramel and milk chocolate develop on subsequent sips. Dry wood and tobacco smoke are everpresent throughout.
Finish
Sweetens up a little as the dry smokiness fades, replaced with floral honey notes. Baking spices return on the medium-long finish.
