Quinoa is technically not a cereal in the same way that barley, wheat and corn are, so this bottling might start a conversation about what is or isn’t a whiskey! Quinoa is related to spinach and amaranth, but unlike those plants, is grown primarily for its edible seed, rather than its leaves. As whiskey is, at its core, a “grain spirit” we reckon this one fits the bill.

Tasting notes
Nose
Fresh grain, chopped dill, spearmint, sweet corn, creamy porridge, a little earthy coriander and cinnamon spice, and hay-like malt.
Taste
Creamy, with a refreshing blast of cucumber, more chopped herbs, vanilla, oak, a distinctive sweet grain and cous-cous-like flavour. Some green apples emerge later.
Finish
A short and sweet finish, with waves of sweet creamy cereals, chopped dill, fresh mint, burnt brown sugar, more orchard fruits and subtle green wood.
