A decidedly herb-forward gin. This bottling is produced using a wealth of locally grown botanicals, including: strawberry gum leaf, lemon thyme and bush tomato. During distillation, the botanical basket is refilled every few hours to ensure maximum flavour. An arboretum is a botanical tree garden, and Animus have perfectly captured that environment with this herbaceous, piney offering.

If there was a prize for extraordinary attention to detail, Animus Distillery would win it hands down. From custom filtration of the spirit to locally sourced botanicals and a unique distillation method, nothing is left unchecked. Particularly, it is the careful distillation process that draws the most attention, with all botanicals vapour distilled, and refreshed for every few litres of gin made. The juice is bottled at 50%, packing in flavour yet very easy drinking.

Nose
Like a walk through a forest – with piney juniper, soft fruits, eucalyptus leafs and warming pepper. Crushed rosemary and thyme build in intensity.
Taste
Full and spicy mouthfeel with an edge of bush tomato heat, liquorice, fragrant herbs, crushed strawberries and sweet, bright juniper.
