This rare Scottish single malt has slumbered peacefully in former Bourbon barrels for around 25 years, before being transferred to Spanish oak casks for an additional finishing period. The result is a stunning, luxurious whisky packed with dried fruit and complex oak flavours. One of the finest Balblairs ever produced.

This dram sits at the top of the Balblair range, and for good reason. Extremely well aged, beautifully balanced and rich in flavour, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than this.
Balblair is one of the oldest distilleries still operating in Scotland, having been founded way back in 1790. Even with such a long history, it is unlikely that they have produced many better drams than this sumptuous offering.

Tasting notes
Nose
A nose that transports you to the barrel warehouse: earthy malt, rich wet oak and caramelised red apples greet the drinker. There’s some plums and toffee, with a little old leather.
Taste
Despite the age, the oak influence is not overwhelming. There’s delicate flavours of dried flowers, apples, dark charred oak, vanilla and spices spun in honey. Raisins and prunes build with time.
Finish
Nearly endless. Black liquorice, peppery spice and drying tannic Sherry linger for aeons.
