A blend of smoky malt whiskies from the Islay region of Scotland, famed for its peaty drams. We don’t know the exact contents of this bottling, but it has a superb pedigree – bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd. This company remains family owned, dates back to 1698, and is recognised as amongst the best spirits bottlers on the planet.
More Details
Based just a stone’s throw away from the St. James’s Palace, once the primary residence of the British Monarch, Berry Bros. & Rudd was auspiciously placed from the beginning.
We don’t actually know who first founded the shop – with the first owner listed only as ‘The Widow Bourne’. Originally a grocer’s and coffee shop, the business shifted its focus onto wines and spirits in the 19th century, when it came into the hands of the Berry family.
Soon, Berry Bros. was established as one of the foremost wine merchants in Europe, counting many celebrated people amongst its clientele, including: Lord Byron, William Pitt the Younger, the Aga Khan and Beau Brummell.
They also have an excellent reputation for the selection of high quality spirits – with this bottling an excellent example: a blended malt from Islay, “The Queen of the Hebrides”. You can expect all the lip-smacking smoke and peaty goodness that the island has to offer.

Tasting notes
Nose
Ashy and light, with aromas of fresh malty biscuits, wood smoke, gentle oak, some smoked ham, vanilla and white peaches.
Taste
Thicker than the nose would suggest, with a full peated malt flavour, and notes of dark chocolate, shaved wood, vanilla, powdered white pepper and bananas.
Finish
Quite creamy and long, with that same white pepper note lingering, joined by peat smoke and dried apricot.
