It's no secret that we produce some of the world's best gins right here in Australia! This bottle bundle takes you on a mini Safari tour of three of our favourites. From ultra-modern New Western gin to traditional Navy strength gin, you'll get to see exactly what all the hype is about.
First up, we head to (arguably) the most scenic part of Australia - Tasmania. Lark's Forty Spotted Tassie Bush Honey Gin brings together sweet Tassie bush honey, Rooibos (red bush) tea and a range of gin botanicals, including some native to Tasmania. The result is a uniquely delicious gin, with a deceptively dry profile - the flavour of honey without sugar tricks your brain. A modern New Western style of gin that favours the flavours of the bottom of the world over juniper.
Secondly we pop to the sunny shores of Sydney with Ester's Strong Gin. Born in Sydney but actually distilled in Melbourne, this no-nonsense juniper-forward powerhouse packs a punch. Ester Spirits have been garnering many awards for their Strong Gin - a modern take on Navy Strength. Bottled above 57%, Navy Strength gin was the original juice of choice for seafaring folk. The high strength was so that if gin were to be spilt on gunpowder, it would still ignite.
And because we can't stay away, we head back to Tasmania for a stunning Old English Sloe Gin from McHenry. McHenry is purportedly the southernmost distillery in the world! The cold climate of lower Tasmania makes a perfect location for not only ageing whisky, but growing sloe berries too. As a close relative of plums, sloes create a delightful fruity designation of gin when macerated in sugar and spirit. Often Sloe gin is diluted to a lower strength, producing something which some might argue is closer to a liqueur than a gin.
