Chief’s Son Distillery is owned and operated by the McIntosh family, and takes its name from the Scots Gaelic origin of the surname: “Mhic an Tòisich”, which translates as “Son of the Chief”.
Apparently this name was first given to the family 900 years ago, due to their unwavering loyalty to the ancient Kings of Scotland. This historical background is presumably behind the title of this dram, with the distillery stating that 900 Standard represents “where we’ve been, where we’re at and where we’re heading.”

Rich, thick fruity aromas of jammy blackberries and stewed plums first emerge, followed by warm caramel sauce, slight earthy peat and subtle cinnamon spice.
Faithful to the nose, with the same sweet fruits, here full bodied and juicy. Some sweet malted barley, soft floral peat, oaky nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla come through with time.
Medium long, featuring lingering flavours of rum and raisin ice cream, elegant smoke, dark leather, orange rind and slightly drying oak.
