From the highest distillery in Scotland (at 326 metres above sea level), set in the windswept Grampian mountains of the Highlands, comes this delicate malt to be savoured. Originally called 'Strathspey', the Dalwhinnie distillery was founded by James Buchanan in 1897. Buchanan became well known for his 'Buchanan' and 'Black & White' blends which used Dalwhinnie as a core component. Later renamed 'Dalwhinnie', (Gaelic for “meeting place” ) the distilleries site is where cattle drovers and smugglers met on their way to markets in the south.

Originally called ‘Strathspey’, the Dalwhinnie distillery was founded by James Buchanan in 1897. It’s located in the windswept Grampian mountains of the Highlands region. The flavours are simple, but flawless. This is a clean, crisp 15 year old from the Dalwhinnie distillery, also part of Diageo’s Classic Malts range.

Tasting notes
Nose
Aromatic, toffee, fruit salad, lush nectarine, custard. Floral, apple blossom, honeysuckle. Apple peels, pear, touch of smoke.
Taste
Malty. Walnuts steeped in manuka honey with vanilla sponge. Gentle smoke weaves its way through the cereal with a touch of spice.
Finish
Long, malty, walnut, almond.
