A family business dating back to 1895, Gordon & MacPhail has become synonymous with exceptional indie single-malt Scotch whisky. Originally a grocery business, they began curating a selection of fine Speyside single malt whiskies to complement their other products. This particular expression is from the Caol Ila distillery in Islay. It was distilled in 2007 and then aged for 14 years in refill Sherry Butt casks.

Tasting notes
Nose
Begins with a delicate sweet smoke, accompanied by notes of prunes, fruit cake, and a touch of spice.
Taste
That sweet smoke presents first but doesn’t overpower the more subtle flavours of pepper and dried fruits.

A full and long finish with lingering bonfire embers and a return of the baking spices.
