A traditional London Dry gin from Haymans, one of the oldest producers still in England’s capital. Surprisingly, this gin was launched in 2008, despite its Old World feel. Made with a recipe of 10 botanicals, including juniper, coriander, orange and lemon peel, this is a high quality rendition of this old fashioned style.

One of few family-owned gin distilleries still in operation in the UK, Haymans has a long and storied history.
Haymans begins with James Burroughs, a chemist by trade, who purchased John Taylor and Sons distillery in the 1860s. Tellingly, his notebooks reveal recipes for gins dating back as far as the 1840s, showing that although working in chemistry, he was firmly of the distiller mindset.
The distillery continued to succeed, particularly after the introduction of the iconic Beefeater gin in the 1870s. Following deaths and marriages, the Burroughs family became the Hayman family. This family continues to have direct involvement in the running, distilling and marketing of this gin, which remains one of the best on the market. Haymans London Dry is a clear, precise flavoured spirit, perfect for cocktails.

Tasting notes
Nose
Citrus flavoured boiled lollies provide a sweet, fruity aroma, before sharp, resinous juniper and earthy spice take hold. There’s a fragrant, vibrant lemongrass note that lends sophistication.
Taste
Bone dry. The mouthfeel is thick and almost custard-like, with rich bittersweet juniper, root-beer notes, and some earthy coriander. Lemon and orange rind provide a welcome, balancing zing.
