A modern take on a traditional English gin liqueur from family-run distillery, Haymans. This is made to a family recipe dating back to the mid-19th century. For this fruity juice, English sloe berries are allowed to steep in Hayman's London Dry gin for months, before being balanced with sugar and reduced in strength. Deep in both colour and flavour.

Sloe gin has been made for centuries. Sloe berries, also known as blackthorn, grow natively to northern Europe and typically have a very powerful, astringent flavour when eaten raw. They come to life, however, when infused with gin.
The berries’ bitterness is balanced by sugar, producing a jammy, sweet and fruity gin liqueur that is perfect for mixing into cocktails or sipping neat. Unfortunately, poor quality sloe gins sunk the spirit’s reputation, but it is slowly on the way up, with Hayman's just one of the distilleries showing how delicious slow gin can be. This expression is made with a base of Hayman's London Dry, which is flavoured with citrus, juniper and coriander for a classic profile.

Tasting notes
Nose
Caramelised red fruits of cherries, strawberry and plum open the nose, accompanied by brown sugar, gentle juniper and some soft citrus zest aromas.
Taste
Fruity and thick, with plentiful plum and blackcurrant cordial flavours. Some complex gin botanicals of chopped herbs and bittersweet juniper arrive, with a little gentle spice. Delicious.
