Jameson has been produced since 1780 and is made using both malted and unmalted barley, along with other unmalted grain. The spirit is triple distilled before being matured in a combination of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for between four and seven years. This combination of distillation and cask maturation gives Jameson its signature light, delicate flavour and wonderfully smooth texture.
The bourbon casks contribute soft sweetness and vanilla, while the Oloroso sherry casks bring additional richness and depth. Together, they create an approachable Irish whiskey with a balanced profile that works beautifully neat, over ice or with a mixer.
