Jura, owned by Whyte & Mackay, is led by master distiller Richard Patterson. He creatively utilises American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels, along with ex-sherry and ex-red wine casks. The Jura 18-year-old expression, part of their core range, is aged in bourbon barrels and finished in red wine casks, resulting in a uniquely complex dram that stays true to the new Jura style, sweet and smoky.

Tasting notes
Nose
Delightfully elegant and dark. Sweet tropical fruits balanced with a hint of maltiness and a distinct influence of vanilla.
Taste
Beautifully rich and full-bodied, reminiscent of a dark forest. There’s an interplay of bitter chocolate and coffee, with the gentlest hint of smoke.
Finish
Impressively long and warming. Tropical notes mingle with hints of chocolate. Touches of red wine and fruit, with a subtle presence of black pepper.
