Nestled amongst the giant gum trees of Grose Vale at the base of the Blue Mountains, Karu are an independent distillery with a focus on making small-batch gins. Karu Affinity is a contemporary Australian gin flavoured with lemon myrtle grown in the distillery’s very own garden. 10 other botanicals are also included in the recipe – sustainably sourced from mostly small scale Aussie farms.

The flagship offering from Karu Distillery, we reckon you'll have an "Affinity" for this contemporary Australian gin.
Aside from the garden-grown lemon myrtle, botanicals of juniper, orange, spices, and some sweetening vanilla bean and almond are used to produce a well-rounded final product.
The end result is an wonderfully versatile gin, perfect for sipping over ice, or mixing into all manner of cocktails.

Tasting notes
Nose
A rather traditional nose, with powerful juniper and earthy spice taking hold, before a blast of refreshing lemon myrtle supplies some balance. A splash of eucalyptus adds to the freshness.
Taste
A little more delicate than the nose, with some almond and vanilla sweetness contributing to a silky texture. Orange peel and flowers follow, accompanying a core of drying juniper.
