A superb expression from Islay's Farm Distillery. This has been aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon and former Sherry casks. The whisky can be seen as the reverse of Kilchoman's flagship Machir Bay bottling – which is matured in mostly Bourbon cask with a touch of Sherry. Sanaig has been aged in 70% Sherry casks and 30% Bourbon barrels, ensuring a profile of sweet oak and smoked fruits.

These are the new kids on the block. Commencing operation in 2006 the distillery has been winning awards since it's inception. Based on Islay, Scotland the unique approach from Kilchoman has carved it out a position amongst some of Scotland's biggest names.
Aged in both bourbon and sherry, the spirit is uniquely fruity - think Islay, but different. Certainly worth experiencing. When Kilchoman distillery was constructed, it was the first new distillery to be built on Islay for over 120 years. The distillery also has the distinction of being the most westerly distillery in Scotland.
Kilchoman distillery was established with the distinct ambition of being an entirely self-sustainable distillery. Since the distillery's opening it has been met with great critical acclaim – not just for the high quality of its whisky, but also for the self-sustainable nature of the distillery.

Tasting notes
Nose
Pineapple and bright white grapes are on the start. Classic briny smoke follows with sticky dates, white pepper, vanilla and that sweet vanilla smoke character. After some time in the glass, jammy sherry flavours appear. A perfect summary of Islay
Taste
Delicate on the palate. Light stone fruits with berry character a citrus fruit zest. All balanced out by the sherry character which comes out as toffee throughout the whisky. Both sweetness and smoke build gradually through the mouth.
Finish
Perfect length, perfect finish. I’d drink this for the finish alone. Shortbread biscuits, caramel and a salty coastal peat. Absolutely balanced and leaves you wanting more.
