After years of hype, we finally have Kilkerran's firm official release. And Wait? No one's talking about it? Well good thing we are, because this bottle contains some of the best new scotch coming out of Scotland. Created in the once illustrious Cambeltown Scotland, this is the perfect intro into the under-discussed region with this underappreciated malt.
More Details
The Kilkerran 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky presents toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding on the nose along with dominant oak notes. On the palate it is initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel followed by vanilla, butterscotch and honeycomb.
The Kilkerran 12 Year Old is the first core release of single malt Scotch whisky from the Glengyle Distillery. When compared to other single malts, this is lightly peated and non-chill filtered, and has been matured in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% Sherry casks.
The culmination of six \"Work In Progress\" releases is this first core bottling from the Glengyle Distillery: a lightly peated and non-chill filtered 12 Year Old malt matured in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% Sherry casks. At this stage the distillery is running one bottling production per annum. This first edition saw 5000 cases for the world market.

Tasting notes
Nose
A wonderful mix of gentle peat and intensely malty notes. Stewed apples. Digestive biscuits. Cream cheese. Vanilla. Lemon cake. Herbal notes on the back-end, and coastal salt. What an adventure!
Taste
Voluptuously oily. Starts out fruity with peaches, apricots, grapefruit and golden syrup. Then the smoke sneaks in, light and sweet rather than a heavy aggressive smoke. Rounds out with herbs and salty biscuits before you swallow.
Finish
Light, yet Moorish. The herbs transform to mint, the biscuits to syrupy vanilla. The whole show complex, yet uncluttered. A heavenly first official release.
