This exceptional whisky from Kumesen Shuzo in Okinawa is 100% rice-distilled and matured in bourbon barrels for over 24 years. Okinawa is one of a chain of subtropical islands in the South of Japan - the warm climate means the whisky matures quicker and has a highly distinct aroma and taste. There were only 6,000 bottles of this whisky released worldwide.

This unique rice-based expression brings a full body and smooth experience, lighter-bodied than a traditional single malt, but with a powerful nose of fresh spices, plum preserves, and candied mint.

Tasting notes
Nose
A floral nose, with deep plums and candied mint. it’s a steady nose, without too much complexity, but otherwise quite tempting.
Taste
Reminiscent of a rye, gin & plum wine combined. Rich deep plum or prunes with vanilla bean. some hard lemon candy, and melted caramel sweetness.
Finish
The finish is heavy in sweetness, with lasting notes of licorice. An absolute stunner of a whisky.
