This small-batch Irish Single Malt whiskey was made at the prolific Midleton Distillery in Ireland, where Jameson and Redbreast are made. Noted for their experimentation with different types of wood for maturation and finishing, this glorious whiskey has been aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and Limousin French oak casks. The result is classic Irish pot-still whiskey, full-bodied and creamy, yet fruity and spicy.
More Details
This series of limited releases shows off the traditions (method) of the old school Master Distiller combined with the creativity (madness) of the distiller apprentices. This particular release is on the more conservative side, finished in French Oak, none the less is very delicious. Expect to see some more wild finishes released soon with a Chestnut wood and Acacia wood finish in the pipeline!

Tasting notes
Nose
Fresh, fruity and nutty - fresh peach, honeydew melon, peanut shells and a biscuity granola bar sweetness.
Taste
Develops more complexity on the palate with honey and french toast rounding out the flavour profile. Fresh fruits become richer and stewed and sprinkled with freshly grated cinnamon.
Finish
Shortish, clean and fruity. A little coconut dries everything out and makes things a little more tropical - think Pina Coladas. Some lingering spice in the background.
