Mezcal is the overarching category that Tequila falls under – a good way to think of it is: “all Tequilas are Mezcals, but not all Mezcals are Tequilas.” This is an example of a classic mezcal – smoky and intense – the full bottle versions of which come complete with a ‘gusano’ or worm, a larva of a moth that inhabits the agave plant.
