An exotic and aromatic London Dry gin from UK gin Opihr. This bottling is inspired by the traditional spice route from Eastern Asia to Europe. The botanicals used here are sourced from the storied Spice Road, including: cubeb berries from Indonesia, cardamom and Tellicherry black pepper from India and coriander from Morocco. The final product is a seriously spiced and beguiling gin.
More Details
Opihr is produced at the G&J Distillery - the UK’s second largest gin distillery. The gin takes its name from a port mentioned in the Bible, where King Soloman received cargo of “gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.” A pretty far-out shopping list!
With this gin, the name invokes the wealth of spices used in its production. Beautifully designed, with ornate elephants adorning the label, this gin perfectly encapsulates the riches of the old spice routes.

Tasting notes
Nose
Surprisingly citrusy at first, before a perfumed profile of spice and juniper takes hold. Almost curried at times, with notes of cardamom, ginger and black pepper cutting through.
Taste
An explosion of spice on the palate – earthy coriander and black pepper make themselves known. A building, almost floral juniper and cubeb emerges, lifted by grapefruit skin. Full bodied.
