The Black Friars Distillery has been producing Plymouth Gin to the same recipe since 1793, making it the oldest working gin distillery in England. For several years, Plymouth Gin was considered so distinct it received its own Protected Geographical Indication – this halted in 2015. The signature Plymouth character comes from a higher than usual proportion of root-based ingredients, giving it a robust earthy profile with a finish that lasts for an eternity.

Tasting notes
Nose
Full-bodied with damp cedarwood and cracked black pepper. Subtle lemon oils and cardamom-coriander spice intertwine for balance. An earthy underpinning complexity of beetroot and parsnip.
Taste
Gentle piney notes are restrained, with citric and earthy root vegetable character shining through. A spot more pepper on the finish, and a beautiful oily texture.
