A bold, flavoursome dram from modern Melbourne distillers, Starward. This single malt has been made using Australian barley and brewer’s yeast, before being aged in 100% American oak barrels that previously held jammy Shiraz and Cabernets from the Barossa Valley. Non chill filtered, this whisky is robust and full bodied.

Starward are known for making contemporary whisky that does not compromise on quality. Fortis takes its name from the Latin word meaning “brave” or “bold”, certainly a fitting description for this powerfully flavoured expression.

This is a distinctly Aussie dram, with Australian ingredients used throughout the whisky-making process. The spirit is bottled at 50% ABV, ensuring the final product closely resembles the whisky that is drawn from the cask.
