The Hibiki Blender's Choice, a No Age Statement (NAS) blend from Suntory, encompasses a harmonious fusion of whiskies aged between 12 to 30+ years, averaging around 15 years. Born out of necessity due to the discontinuation of the beloved 17-year-old expression, it includes a few wine cask-aged whiskies, adding uniqueness to its profile. Initially destined for bar sales in Japan, it quickly found its way into retail, captivating whisky enthusiasts worldwide.

Hibiki Blender’s Choice was initially intended for interior bar sale only, through Suntory’s wholesale/industry distribution channels in Japan. Rumour has it that it has an average age of 15- year-old with some aged in red wine casks!

Tasting notes
Nose
Reasonably sweet, with rich toffee notes and some vanilla. Cranberries and red currants. A dry bark oaky note which is distinctive from the red wine casks.
Taste
The palate opens with toffee, rice pudding and green apples. Dried cranberries, balanced by crisp apple and pineapple juice. Wood spice picks up, mainly lighter allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish
The wood notes continue in the finish, the wine casks makes for a dry and astringent finish which keeps you sipping repeatedly.
