This juice from innovative indie bottlers, Sweetdram, doubles up the peat factor, ageing smoky spirit from Ardmore in second-fill former Bourbon barrels that have held Islay single malt. The result is a remarkable combo of the sweeter Highland peat, and the more maritime Islay smoke.

Tasting notes
Nose
A burst of freshly toasted malt bread, barbeque sauce, smoked apples and pears, woodsmoke, sea spray and dried apricot.
Taste
Lipsmackingly smoky, with flavours of burning heather, floral honey, charred oak flamed orange rind and freshly cracked black pepper.
Finish
Very long, with intensifying smoky spice of hot cinnamon and more black pepper. Chocolate covered peanuts emerge with time.
