If Scottish and American whiskey were to have a baby, this would be the result. Scottish inspired, this expression is double pot distilled from malted barley. The maturation process is uniquely American, being aged in brand new American oak barrels. There are no shortcuts in this smooth sipper, while there is no age statement, the small-batches of barrels are said to be over five years old.

Westward American Single Malt is created from locally grown malted barley, brewed with ale yeast for exceptional flavour, and matured in new, lightly charred American Oak barrels. The climate in Oregon of hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters raises a world-class yet distinctive whiskey.

Tasting notes
Nose
Opens with fresh sawdust, sweet vanilla malt and poached pears spiced with clove and cinnamon. More fruity notes come through with air contact, think ripe peaches and apricots.
Taste
Full bodied on the palate with sweet fruity malt notes and an oily texture. Rich toasty oak shavings with a hint of barrel char develop as time goes on. Gentle spices integrate and balance the sweetness.
Finish
Dried apricots and vanilla come through at first. As the medium-long finish dries out bitter dark chocolate, leather and spiced tobacco linger.
