The Westward Stout Cask Finish begins with their signature American Single Malt Whiskey – brewed first as an artisanal Pale Ale, using locally malted barley, ale yeast, and low and slow fermentation. This fruity ferment is double distilled and matured in new, low char American Oak barrels and then finished for one year in freshly seasoned Stout Casks sourced from breweries across Oregon. This collaborative approach delivers a whiskey with depth and complexity.

Tasting notes
Nose
Inviting aromas of toasted grain and malty sweetness, with notes of pecan pie, vanilla sponge and chocolate croissant, accented with hints of hoppy astringency and distant charred oak.
Taste
A sumptuous entry leads to a full bodied mouthfeel with flavours of vanilla poached plums, cinnamon churro and sweet tobacco couched in a chocolate malty creaminess, supported by well-structured oak
Finish
A deliciously long and undulating finish with notes of fudge brownie, honey snap biscuits and dark toffee, balanced with well-integrated mellow charred oak and hints of hoppy dryness trailing off into the distance. A beautifully balanced whisky.
