Crafting spirits from the Wicklow Mountains in "The Garden of Ireland", the area is renowned for its natural and scenic beauty, found just south of Dublin. A new contender in the whisky world, the Glendalough Distillery has birthed off an exciting idea and a whole lot of passion. Like most Irish Whiskey's, the Glendalough matures in Bourbon barrels.
However, the tradition is broken by introducing a second, very different cask. These are specifically selected to accentuate the flavours which are already evident in the whisky. The Glendalough chosen casks range from American bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry casks to Dublin porter barrels. There is something incredibly unique about the Glendalough Distillery and the single malts they produce.
