Over the year’s there have been plenty of special editions and experimental whiskies to bear the Chivas name but the Mizunara Edition is one of their big success stories.
This special edition was inspired by a trip taken by the Chivas Master Distiller to Japan. On his return, he created this, the first Scotch ever to be selectively finished in Japanese Mizunara oak casks.
This rare and expensive wood brings a gentle spice and a range of unique aromatic flavours that offsets Chivas’ succulent 12-year old blend to a tee.
It was originally only intended for the Japanese market. But its popularity and rave reviews saw it launched more widely. It only takes one taste to see why people love it so much. A sweet and nutty nose leads you into a rich and floral taste before the long, smooth finish leaves you wanting more.
This is a whisky that gives as much when enjoyed neat as with water or on ice. For fans of Scotch and Japanese whiskies, its one you will definitely want to try.
