Glen Grant is known as the “Elder Statesman” of Speyside malts, due to the fact that there are plentiful extremely mature casks to be found. This abundance of older spirit is because the distillery pretty much never stopped producing at any time during its history (aside from the World Wars). Glen Grant is particularly known for providing large quantities of malt whisky to the Seagram’s and Chivas Brothers blenders.
Typically rich in notes of orchard fruits and warm malt, Glen Grant really is your archetypal Speyside dram. This 18 year old showcases the spirit at its best: fruity, light but bearing the signs of a good long maturation.

Tasting notes
Nose
Subtle honeysuckle and vanilla opens things up, followed by sweet marzipan, gentle cinnamon, cloves and undertones of rich oak. Apple tart emerges with time and air.
Taste
Classic Glen Grant apples come to the party, accompanied by rich, mouth-coating flavours of vanilla custard, caramelised barley, dusty oak, and flashes of sultanas.
Finish
Medium, and rather light, with spiced apples, almonds and white chocolate lasting on the palate. A perfectly crafted Speyside dram.
