Hernö is a relatively new distillery, only opening in 2011 on the high coast of Sweden. Juniper is front and centre of everything Hernö does, however, a little lick of honey and meadowsweet provides a sweet and floral edge in this Old Tom gin.

Hernö Gin distillery is located on an 18th century farm on the picturesque high coast of Sweden. The founder and master distiller Jon Hillgren set out to create a gin that is inspired by the natural beauty of the region and ended up creating one of the most awarded gins in Europe.
Old Tom Gin is a classic style that is lightly sweetened. Originally this was to smooth out any harsh notes back when distilling was a much cruder process, however now it is purely a stylistic choice. Juniper is front and centre of everything Hernö does, however, a little lick of honey and meadowsweet provides a sweet and floral edge.

Tasting notes
Nose
Pine, pine and more pine! Smells like walking through a forest of woody spice; the Juniper shines brightly. Delicate floral notes pop up featuring elderflower, meadowsweet and a touch of lemon peel.
Taste
Bold juniper carries through onto the taste. Honey sweetness rounds out the bold pine notes, followed by flashes of earl grey tea and grassy chamomile.
