This bottling is made in cooperation between Kyoto distillery and Hori-Shchimeien, a tea-grower and blender whose estate was established in the famed Uji tea region over 140 years ago. A core of Gyokuro and Tencha green tea leaves drive the flavour here, complemented by crop from the Okunoyama tea garden - which dates back to the 14th century. A mystery blend of gin botanicals completes the recipe.

A tea-infused Japanese take on the dry gin style. Centred around high quality Gyokuru and Tencha teas, these ingredients are supported by botanicals as yuzu, hinoki wood chips, bamboo, gyokuro tea and green sanshō berries. The result is a refreshing, and distinctly Japanese gin, steeped in the history of Kyoto.

Tasting notes
Nose
A delicate, creamy and soft nose slowly reveals flavours of green mangos, verdant tea, juicy juniper, faint earthy spices and jammy citrus rind.
Taste
Initially, intense green tea flavours grip the palate, which is oily and full. Gradually, peppery spice, drying juniper and dried tropical fruit emerge.
