The Kura 8 Year Old is a superb example of the Japanese awamori style of whisky. Inspired by a 600 year old tradition of fermenting and distilling, it's made from locally sourced Indica long grain rice and mashed with unique strains of black Koji. The distilled spirit is matured in selected virgin American white oak casks for a minimum of 8 years on the Island of Okinawa.

Tasting notes
Nose
Deep aromas of toasted oak, brown sugar, notes of oatmeal cookie and coconut macaroon, hints of dried apricot and vanilla.
Taste
Initial release of sweet cereal and grainy flavours, developing notes salted toffee sour apple, toasted oak and vanilla lime.
Finish
Medium length and complex finish with recurring woody astringency, rising acidity and lasting bitter vanilla.
