Consistently regarded as one of the finest bottlings in the vast Buffalo Trace stable, Stagg Jnr. offers a powerful taste of what the distillery has to offer. Much like “Baby Saz”, Stagg Jnr. is a younger, more accessible version of a whiskey that features in Buffalo Trace’s Antique Collection, George T. Stagg. Just like its “bigger brother”, Stagg Jnr. is a selection of some of the finest casks in the Buffalo Trace warehouses, presented totally unfiltered and at barrel proof.
Stagg Jnr. was awarded a “Master” title in the 2021 American Whiskey Masters competition.
More Details
Stagg Jnr. takes its name from George T. Stagg, a crucial figure in the history of Buffalo Trace. Alongside E.H. Taylor, Stagg established O.F.C. Distillery, a precursor to Buffalo Trace, as the most dominant and acclaimed American whiskey producer of its time.
Eventually, the distillery was named after Stagg in 1900, and his legacy is maintained by the continued quality of the bottlings bearing his name. Stagg Jnr. is undoubtedly one of the finest Bourbons on the market today.

Tasting notes
Nose
Extremely intense, with aromas of charred oak, burnt toffee, orange rind, vanilla, hot cinnamon, dark chocolate, honey and warm leather.
Taste
Exceedingly full bodied and powerful. Thick flavours of vanilla custard, caramelised apples, and flamed citrus peel greet the drinker, followed by cinnamon, nutmeg and charred oak.
Finish
Neverending notes of drying oak, allspice, rye toast, black pepper, tannic leather and bittersweet molasses linger on this finish.
