Togouchi Beer Cask Finish Blended Japanese Whisky (700mL)

Togouchi blended whiskies are particularly unique in that they are only aged, blended and diluted in Japan and highlight the art of blending which takes place at the Sakurao distillery in Hiroshima. The master blenders combine their expert skills and delicate senses to identify the unique qualities of malt and grain whisky, and blend them together to ensure the precise balance between a moderate peaty aroma and a smooth finish. The aging of whisky casks imported from Scotland and Canada takes place in a unique site: an old railway tunnel dug through the mountains, offering ideal conditions for maturation (constant temperature of 14°C and humidity of 80%). Part of their Japanese character comes from the natural spring water used in blending and lowering the alcohol strength, which comes from the nearby mountains of the Sandankyo natural park. The aging warehouse maintains a cool temperatures regardless of the season, allowing the whisky to slowly mature and breathe in the natural elements over time. Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is a blended whisky specially created with only 36 casks blended together. For this edition, the casks selected for the final maturation by the master blender are oak casks that were used first for the maturation of Martinique rum in the French Caribbean and then for the maturation of IPA beers in France.
