Glenkinchie Distillery
Established in 1853, Glenkinchie Distillery is located nearby Edinburgh and is marketed as 'The Edinburgh Malt'. At present, the Glenkinchie Distillery is in Diageo hands. Along with four neighbouring Lowlanders, the Glenkinchie formed Scottish Malt Distillers. In 1925, Distillers Company acquired Scottish Malt Distillers, ultimately becoming the conglomerate Diageo today. The award winning 24yo is matured in European oak casks, leaving a slight saltiness from the Sherry casks with sherried apples and vanilla sugar, finishing off with a lingering peppery oak taste. After receiving gold at Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, the special release is a star favourite of the Glenkinchie Distillery.
