Thomas H. Handy is a crucial figure in the history of American drinking. As the owner of the Old Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans, he imported Cognac and mixed a renowned house cocktail – the Sazerac. When grape blight struck French vines, Cognac was swapped out for American rye whiskey by Handy. This bottling honours his decision, and is delicious both in a classic Sazerac or served neat.
