Known for having a waxy, weighty quality, Aberfeldy enjoys long fermentations and slow distillations, creating this unusual texture. It is also renowned as one of the sweetest single malts in the Highlands.
A fascinating distillery, which is key to the Dewar’s style, Aberfeldy now boasts an educational centre that tells the history of the Dewar’s blend: Dewar’s World of Whisky.

Initially, beeswax and polished oak aromas come through, followed by apricot, sweet grapes, honeyed malt and baked apples.
Seriously waxy and full bodied, despite the relatively low ABV. A nuttiness emerges here, with toffee’d malt, orange rind, a little pepper and nutmeg.
Drying flavours of rich toasted oak, sultanas, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and nutmeg linger on this medium-length finish. Grows waxy in texture with time.
