Part of the ‘Cask Expression’ series from Chief’s Son distillery, a family-owned and operated small batch distillery based in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula region. This Single Malt whisky is aged in a first-fill French oak barrel, then transferred to a second-fill American oak cask. Its unique character is further enhanced through finishing in a Choctail Stout barrel sourced from the renowned Daiton brewery.

Tasting notes
Nose
Those Choctail stout aromas jump out of the glass, dark malty chocolate supported with the oakiness from the double barrel ageing.
Taste
Rich and deep. Lots of malts and roasted choctail flavours, cinnamon spice peeks through along with complex woody notes.
Finish
Medium length, the spicy notes come through with the dark chocolate taking a back seat.
