A well-aged expression from the highly-esteemed Highlander, Glenmorangie. This dram was initially matured for 15 years in former bourbon barrels, developing a core of sweet vanilla and oak-spice flavours. 30% of the spirit was then treated to a lengthy finish of three years in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, imparting opulence and depth.

Glenmorangie is found in Tain, the oldest royal burgh in Scotland, located in the far northern Highlands. One of the most acclaimed distilleries in the whisky industry, Glenmorangie is notable for its extremely tall stills, originally taken from a gin distillery, which provide their spirit with a refined, floral note.
Glenmo, as it is affectionately known, has also been an innovator when it comes to whisky maturation. They were an early champion of “finishing” the spirit in a different style of cask to add complexity, and have exacting standards when it comes to the quality of their oak. This bottling is one of the jewels in their highly decorated crown.

Tasting notes
Nose
Pours a straw gold colour. Initially, wafts of sharp mandarine peel and sweet malt greet the drinker, soon softened by waves of toffee, nutty fruit cake and dustings of cocoa.
Taste
Lemon barley water is supported by a toasted oak flavour, with citrus re-emerging alongside vanilla, crème brûlée, oily walnut, figs and classic Glenmo potpourri. Full bodied and satisfying.
Finish
A lasting finish features lemon sorbet, honeysuckle and caramel biscuits. A dram that is typified by perfect balance throughout.
