This dram, a special winter release, showcases a new style of Old Kempton whisky, with mature Bourbon barrel-aged spirit standing up to the distillery’s classic wine cask juice. According to the distillery: “The aim behind this process was to match the berry fruits and spice of the French Oak Pinot Noir Cask with the Vanilla sweetness of the American Oak Bourbon casks to build a flavour profile that balances.”

Tasting notes
Nose
Like walking into an old library – with aromas of polished old oak, malt and roasted nuts. With time, a little dark chocolate comes to the fore.
Taste
Juicy and jammy, featuring flavours of plums, stewed prunes, blackberry jam, redcurrants, flamed orange peel and toasted malt.
Finish
Very long, becoming sweet and spicy as notes of cinnamon, dark toffee, cloves, vanilla and slightly tannic wine-soaked oak take hold.
