Founded in 1897 by John Grant, Alexander Mackenzie, and George Sellar, it is renowned for its smooth and gentle style of whisky, characterized by honeyed sweetness, subtle smokiness, and a hint of heather. Dalwhinnie is also famous for being one of the highest distilleries in Scotland, situated at an elevation of 1,164 feet (355 meters) above sea level.
