James Fleming established in 1879 the Aberlour Distillery. Crafting exceptional single malts, Aberlour's spirits often undergo double cask maturation for several years in selected Oloroso Sherry butts and American oak casks. Situated near Birkenbush Springs, the produced whisky benefits from the distinctive water of this spring. Both the spring water and the best locally sourced barley are instrumental in shaping the whisky's distinctive flavor profile. Aberlour's commitment to quality has garnered numerous accolades, including the esteemed title of Whisky of the Year for their Aberlour A’bunadh at the 2018 International Whisky Competition.
