Cooley Distillery
This Irish Distillery was founded in late 1987 in Ireland and remained independent until 2011 where labels such as Kilbeggan, Tyrconnell, Locke's have now belonged to Beam (now Beam Suntory). The whiskeys from Cooley Distillery differ from its Irish competitors. Cooley uses the technique of double distillation, one less than most other distilleries. The distillery is essentially a two in one, it produces single malts in pot stills in addition to hand grain whisky in patent stills to produce blended whiskey.
It can now produce up to 650,000 litres of malt whiskey and 2.6 million litres of grain whisky annually. The Kilbeggan brand owned by Cooley produces blended whiskey, both complex and approachable in character. The adopted technique of double distillation gives it a firm profile with hints of sweet caramel, vanilla and woody oak tones.
