In 2014, the winemaker Sacha La Forgia established 78 Degrees Distillery located east of Adelaide, South Australia, initially operating under the name Adelaide Hills Distillery. Producing a diverse range of spirits, the brand has gained recognition for its quality and innovation. Through ongoing experimentation and research, 78 Degrees Distillery explores the use of uniquely Australian botanicals, leading to an expanded collection of gins, vermouths, aperitifs, and Australian whiskey. The distillery has earned prestigious accolades such as the Silver award at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the title of Best International Whiskey at the 2022 American Distilling Institute competition.
