The Floradora Cocktail: A Classic Gin Drink

You might not have heard of the Floradora cocktail before, but it’s definitely one you should get to know. It’s a tall refreshing semi-sweet drink, consisting of gin, ginger ale, citrus and raspberries - simply irresistible! The Floradora has a rich history, named after a hugely successful London West End musical that debuted in 1899. The story goes that the bartender at an afterparty was asked by one of the cast members to create them something new. And the rest, as they say, is history...

Bartender’s Top Tips

Don’t forget to fine strain the drink to remove all the little bits of raspberries from the drink.

Raspberries don’t need muddling to release their flavour! The action of shaking is aggressive enough to break them up.

For an easier twist, you can substitute raspberry syrup bought from the store for sugar and fresh raspberries. Less mess and less fuss.
